“This was the third car I rented from Rent.is. This time, I rented a Fiat Doblo mini camper. As before, picking up the car at the airport went smoothly. The handover was quick. The car was relatively new and clean, and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the employee did not want to remove items such as tables, chairs, and extra sleeping bags from the vehicle. This was not an issue with my first two rentals. I prefer to take only what I need; then, you simply have more space in small vehicles.

The car had everything you need, including the already mentioned table, chairs, and sleeping bags. There were also pillows, cooking pots, dishes, a gas stove with a gas cartridge, a small electric heater (as a supplement to the built-in Webasto heating system), and a 220V socket (the vehicle had to be connected to electricity at the campsite). The bed and pillows were comfortable. Thanks to the drawable curtains, the vehicle could be darkened very well (which is important during the short nights in June). The only thing missing was the additional blanket and towel I had booked. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice this when I picked up the vehicle. The costs were refunded to me without any discussion.

The battery seems to have enough capacity to power both the auxiliary heating and the cooler. At least, I couldn’t discharge it below 50%.

Returning the vehicle also went smoothly. I always book vehicles in Iceland with Platinum insurance. Yes, it’s expensive, but repairs in Iceland are even more expensive, and you can drive much more relaxed.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the vehicle and the rental service. I can recommend Rent.is without hesitate and would rent a vehicle from them again at any time.”
