Crosscamp Flex 541 Camper Van Rental in Iceland

A 4-person Crosscamp camper van for flexible Iceland road trips

The Crosscamp Flex 541 is a 4-person camper van rental in Iceland with four belted seats, sleeping space for four people, a pop-up roof bed, a convertible sofa bed, built-in kitchen, sink, refrigerator, diesel heating, 12V battery power and 230V campsite hook-up.

Choose this Crosscamp camper van if you want more space and indoor flexibility than a compact camper, especially for Ring Road-style trips, family travel, or two-couple road trips. It is 2WD with selected F-road permission, not a full 4×4 camper. If your route depends on broader Highland access or river crossings, compare 4×4 camper rental in Iceland before booking.

Is the Crosscamp Flex 541 right for your Iceland trip?

Choose the Crosscamp Flex 541 if…

Choose the Crosscamp Flex 541 if your group needs four belted seats, four sleeping spaces, a pop-up roof sleeping setup, and the option to cook inside when Iceland’s weather is not ideal for outdoor cooking. It works well for travelers who want a table area, built-in stove, sink, refrigerator, diesel heating, campsite power, and enough structure to feel organized during a longer road trip.

It is a strong fit for Ring Road travel, the Golden Circle, the South Coast, and the selected F-roads listed further down this page. It also includes sleeping gear, kitchenware, CDW, unlimited km/miles, and a free Keflavík Airport shuttle.

Compare another Rent.is camper if…

Compare another Rent.is camper if you need full 4×4 capability, broader Highlands access, a toilet or shower, automatic transmission, or more room than a pop-up roof camper can realistically offer. Four seats and four beds are included, but comfort still depends on your luggage, trip length, and expectations.

For a larger same-family option, compare the Crosscamp Lux 600. For smaller or larger setups, browse all Iceland campers.

Sleeping setup: how four people fit inside

    Pop-up roof bed

The pop-up roof tent creates the upper sleeping space in the Crosscamp Flex 541. The bed measures 140x200cm and sleeps two people. Access is by ladder, and the roof should only be operated when the camper is parked and turned off. The tent is easy to raise and close.

    Convertible sofa bed

The living area has a table and sofa setup during the day, then converts into the lower bed at night. This bed measures 130x200cm and sleeps two people.

The camper seats and sleeps four, but “sleeps four” does not always mean the same comfort level for every group. Four adults with large hard-shell suitcases will have a different space experience than two adults with children and soft bags. For easier storage, check the Iceland camper van packing list before you pack.

    Kitchen, water and storage

What you can cook and clean inside

The Crosscamp Flex 541 has a built-in stove, portable stove, camping gas, refrigerator, sink with running water, pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery. The camper also has a 10L fresh water tank and a 10L waste-water tank, so you can cook simple meals and clean up inside the van.

Gas refill can be purchased if required.

    Storage areas

The floor plan includes under-bed storage, table storage, hanging storage, overhead storage, kitchenware storage, gas bottle storage, and the fridge position. This matters for four-person travel because bags, bedding, food, and day gear all need a place to go.

For four travelers, pack soft-sided bags where possible and keep day-use items separate from sleeping gear.

    Heating, battery and campsite power

The Crosscamp Flex 541 includes a diesel heating system for cold nights, an EHU portable heater, a 12V camping battery, and a 230V electric hook-up for campsites. Mobile devices can be charged through 12V plugs, and battery-powered devices can use 230V power when the camper is connected at a campsite.

With a full battery, the camper functions for around 8 hours, but battery life can vary depending on what you use and how long you are parked.

For longer parked periods, plan to use campsites with electric hook-up so you can recharge and use the 230V connection. For colder-season planning, read our guide to winter camping in Iceland before choosing your route and camper.

Where can the Crosscamp Flex 541 drive?

    Ring Road and standard routes

The Crosscamp Flex 541 is suitable for standard Iceland road trip routes where a 2WD camper is allowed. It can work well for travelers planning the Ring Road, Golden Circle, South Coast, and campsite-based travel, providing road conditions allow.

For route planning, use the Iceland Ring Road guide as a starting point.

    Selected F-road permission

Important route note: The Crosscamp Flex 541 is 2WD but is permitted on selected F-roads ONLY: F35 Kjölur, F550 Kaldidalur, and F208 toward Landmannalaugar, only up to the river before the campsite. River crossings are not allowed. Off-roading is illegal in Iceland.
