Renting a camper van in Iceland can range from around $100 to $300+ per day, depending on the type of camper, rental duration, time of year, and included features. Smaller basic campers tend to be more affordable, while larger or 4×4-equipped models cost more. The minimum age to rent a camper varies by camper rental. Iceland drivers are typically required to be at least 18 years old. Age requirements go up for larger or 4×4 campers.
- Valid Driver’s License: An internationally recognized license, held for at least one year.
- Credit or Debit Card: For payment and to cover any security deposit.
- Passport or ID: For identification and verification purposes.
- Booking Confirmation: Proof of your reservation, usually emailed upon booking.
- Refundable Security Deposit: At pick-up, you’ll leave a refundable security deposit of 450.000ISK.
Travel Plan (Optional): Information about your intended route or destinations can be helpful.
- Sleeping room and seats for 2, 3, or 5 people depending on the camper rented.
- Double bed (140 x 200 cm / 4’7 x 6’6 in).
- Two Sleeping bags, sheets & pillows.
- Heating system for those chilly nights.
- Chairs & camping table.
- Camping Griddle & Gas.
- Pots, Pans, dishes & cutlery.
- Radio/CD/MP3/USB.
- Unlimited km/miles & CDW Insurance.

- They must be a legal driver.
- You cannot add an extra driver upon arrival.
- Only the main driver can pick up the reserved vehicle.
Yes, safety is our first priority. All of our camper vans are on studded tires during winter seasons.
When you get a campervan for hire, Iceland becomes your own world of possibilities! However, some places are off-limits when driving in Iceland. Luckily, we do offer campers that are allowed on Iceland’s F-roads:
Note: 2WD campers are not allowed on any F-roads.
- If you’re exploring the Icelandic highlands: Yes.
Many interior roads, known as “F-roads,” require a 4×4 vehicle by law. These mountain roads are rugged, unpaved, and often include river crossings. - If you’re sticking to the Ring Road and main attractions: No.
A standard camper rental in Iceland is sufficient for most popular destinations, as these roads are well-maintained and accessible year-round.

Yes, all campers come with unlimited mileages so you are free to explore as much as you want. Hybrid cars such as the Jeep Renegade and Jeep Wrangler, have a road tax of 500kr per day.
