The best part of this trip was the flexibility to go where ever, whenever because of the nomadic nature of the camper van. While I was making my way around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/blog\/the-ringroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Ring Road<\/a> I found myself constantly reading though blogs to find the best hot spring spots. So, to spare my fellow camper van travelers and hot spring enthusiasts the search, I put together a list of the hot springs I went to (with their GPS coordinates).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Secret Lagoon<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 This hot spring was about 2500 ISK (or 25 USD) per person. The price tag was much more reasonable in comparison to the infamous Blue Lagoon. Here, we found minimal crowds, clean showers and a very large hot spring to visit. This was a natural hot spring, with a rocky floor and a relaxing atmosphere. We came here after visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/blog\/waterfalls-in-iceland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gullfoss waterfall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GPS coordinates<\/strong>: 64.1378\u00b0 N, 20.3099\u00b0 W<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/The-Lovely-Secret-Lagoon.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5044\" title=\"The lovely Secret Lagoon\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/The-Lovely-Secret-Lagoon-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"The lovely Secret Lagoon\" width=\"875\" height=\"875\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Hoffell Hot Pots<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 This hot pot was 1000 ISK (10 USD) per person. This one had Jacuzzi-like tubs that were filled with water from a nearby hot spring. Here there were only about 5 other people, so it is a great place to avoid the crowds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GPS coordinates:<\/strong> 64\u00b023\u201949.5\u2033N 15\u00b020\u201926.9\u2033W<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Hoffell-Hot-Pots.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5045\" title=\"Hoffell Hot Pots\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Hoffell-Hot-Pots-300x294.jpg\" alt=\"Hoffell Hot Pots\" width=\"875\" height=\"856\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Oskakari\u00f0 Hot Pots<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 This hot pot was in H\u00fasavik, so if you are planning on going whale watching this is a must-do stop! The price was 300 ISK (3 USD), which is VERY reasonable. Here you will find another Jacuzzi-like tub filled with water from a near by spring. From the tubs you will have views of the country side and the beautiful coast of Iceland. If you&#8217;re lucky you might see a humpback whale taking a breath in the distance!<\/p>\n<p><strong>GPS coordinates:<\/strong> N66\u00ba03.324 W17\u00ba21.079<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Oskakarid-Hot-Pots.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5046\" title=\"Oskakari\u00f0 Hot Pots\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Oskakarid-Hot-Pots-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Oskakari\u00f0 Hot Pots\" width=\"875\" height=\"492\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Fosslaug Hot Spring<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; This one was a little trickier to find, but it&#8217;s FREE! Follow the GPS coordinates until you reach a farm. You can park there by the fences and walk through the gate. If you continue to follow the GPS on foot, you will begin to see signs for the hot spring. This was a very secluded location with few people. The hot spring is made of rocks with a mud floor and is right next to a river.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GPS coordinates:<\/strong> 65\u00b029\u201944.6\u2033N 19\u00b022\u201955.6\u2033W<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Fosslaug-Hot-Spring-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5047\" title=\"Fosslaug Hot Spring\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Fosslaug-Hot-Spring-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Fosslaug Hot Spring\" width=\"875\" height=\"656\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Landbrotalaug Hot Spring<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 This was another small, secluded and free hot spring. It is VERY small and only fits 2 people at a time comfortably, but is absolutely stunning. It is surrounded by mountains and a river. If you are in the area, this hot spring is a must do!<\/p>\n<p><strong>GPS coordinates:<\/strong> N64\u00b049.933 W22\u00b019.110<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Landbrotalaug-Hot-Spring.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5048\" title=\"Landbrotalaug Hot Spring\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Landbrotalaug-Hot-Spring-300x176.jpg\" alt=\"Landbrotalaug Hot Spring\" width=\"875\" height=\"514\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Reykjadalur Valley<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; This is a popular site with tourists, but is large enough that it did not feel crowded. There is a bit of a hike to this one, but is worth it to reach the hot spring river. It is about a 1.5 kilometer hike uphill to get to, but is well worth it.
