I was conducting research on entrepreneurship (from Canada) and she was volunteering at a local children&#8217;s home (from Denmark). We hit it off right away and have been together ever since!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We now live in Canada together and planned to visit family in Denmark this July. We decided (at no extra cost!) to have a 5-day layover in beautiful Iceland! What better way to celebrate our three-year anniversary than going on another crazy adventure together.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/camper-van-rental-in-iceland-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 875px; height: 583px;\" title=\"Our Camper van Rental in Iceland\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/camper-van-rental-in-iceland-1.jpg\" alt=\"Our Camper van Rental in Iceland\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After looking for hotels and car rentals we quickly realized that costs were adding up quick! We then stumbled upon the opportunity to get a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">campervan<\/a> that would not only fully suit our needs, but also be at a price we could afford! This was the best and most cost effective way to explore Iceland.<\/div>\n<div>Below is an outline of our awesome adventure. Make sure to check out the link above of our destinations in case you wish to visit some of the same things. Additionally, all locations have underlined links if you wish to find out further information.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Day 1: Blue Lagoon &amp; Beautiful Reykjavik\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>On our first day we headed straight from the airport to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/blog\/ten-dont-do-in-iceland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blue Lagoon<\/a> on a shuttle bus for a dip in the warm blue waters. We purchased tickets in advance (from the website) to avoid any lines, and brought our own towels to avoid the extra costs. Although it was costly (50 Euro), we had a fantastic experience that was very relaxing. Make sure to get a silica mud mask, have a waterfall massage, and take a seat in the natural steam room.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/swimming-in-the-blue-lagoon.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 875px; height: 583px;\" title=\"Swimming in Iceland\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/swimming-in-the-blue-lagoon.jpg\" alt=\"Swimming in Iceland\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After the blue lagoon we took a quick nap (to help with the time difference) and decided to do a walking tour of Reykjavik. Below are some of the places we visited in day 1 with quick descriptions:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Iceland destinations for day 1:<\/span><\/h2>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Sun_Voyager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>S\u00f3lfari\u00f0<\/strong><\/a> (The Sun Voyager): A sculpture by J\u00f3n Gunnar \u00c1rnason. Sun Voyager is a dreamboat, an ode to the sun.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.harpa.is\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Harpa<\/strong><\/a>: A concert hall and conference centre in Reykjav\u00edk. Harpa was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist \u00d3lafur Eliasson.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vikin_Maritime_Museum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Vikin Maritime Museum<\/strong><\/a>: Maritime museum in a former fish factory with historic ships &amp; exhibits on local fishing industry.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Austurv\u00f6llur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Austurv\u00f6llur<\/strong><\/a>: A public square and popular gathering place for the citizens of Reykjav\u00edk, especially during good weather due to the prevalence of caf\u00e9s on Vallarstr\u00e6ti and P\u00f3sth\u00fasstr\u00e6ti.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tj\u00f6rnin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Tj\u00f6rnin<\/strong><\/a>: A small lake in Reykjavik located in the city centre next to city hall and several museums.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hallgr\u00edmskirkja\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Hallgrimskirkja<\/strong><\/a>: Hallgr\u00edmskirkja is a Lutheran parish church. At 73 meters, it is the largest church in Iceland and the sixth tallest architectural structure in Iceland.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/harpa-concert-hall-in-reykjavik.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 875px; height: 583px;\" title=\"Harpa concert hall in Reykjavik, Iceland\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/harpa-concert-hall-in-reykjavik.jpg\" alt=\"Harpa concert hall in Reykjavik, Iceland\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After an exhausting day (of nearly 25,000 steps) we headed off to bed at our hotel and did the final planning for our campervan journey ahead.<\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Day 2: South Coast- Part 1\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>After a good night\u2019s rest we were picked up from the hotel to get our camper van. The process was very easy and we were on the road in less than an hour. We recommend to get the full insurance (just in case) and to take pictures to ensure no accidental charges after check out.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We realized after the first day that eating out can be very expensive. Therefore we headed to the closest Bonus and stocked up on food for the next four days. Keep in mind that most campervans have fridges and grills so there are endless possibilities for meals and snacks! After we stocked up with food we hit the road (on a very rainy day).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We usually traveled from 11am-3am and slept the mornings away since; 1. We had not yet adjusted to the time difference; 2. Iceland has bright summer nights and; 3. Tourists usually departed in the late afternoon.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Destinations for day 2:<\/span><\/h2>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Seljalandsfoss\"><strong>Seljalandsfoss Waterfall<\/strong><\/a>: One of the best known <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goiceland.com\/blog\/top-10-waterfalls-in-iceland\/10359\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">waterfalls in Iceland<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sk\u00f3gafoss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Sk\u00f3gafoss Waterfall<\/strong><\/a>: A waterfall situated on the Sk\u00f3g\u00e1 River in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reynisdrangar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Reynisdrangar<\/strong><\/a>: Basalt sea stacks located under the mountain Reynisfjall near the village V\u00edk, which is famous for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/blog\/black-sand-beaches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">black sand beach<\/a> that was once ranked as one of the ten most beautiful non-tropical beaches in the world.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Laki\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Eldhraun Lava Field<\/strong><\/a>: Hardened Lava covered in brilliant Green moss. This place was a great area to take some cool pictures.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/J\u00f6kuls\u00e1rl\u00f3n\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>J\u00f6kuls\u00e1rl\u00f3n Glacier Lagoon<\/strong><\/a>: A large glacial lake in southeast Iceland, on the edge of Vatnaj\u00f6kull National Park.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/jokulsarlon-glacier-lagoon.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 425px; height: 283px;\" title=\"J\u00f6kuls\u00e1rl\u00f3n, the great ice lake in Iceland\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/jokulsarlon-glacier-lagoon.jpg\" alt=\"J\u00f6kuls\u00e1rl\u00f3n, the great ice lake in Iceland\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/reynisdrangar-in-south-iceland.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 425px; height: 283px;\" title=\"Reynisdrangar on a black sand beach\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/reynisdrangar-in-south-iceland.jpg\" alt=\"Reynisdrangar on a black sand beach\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After a long day of driving and exploration we settled to rest around 3am at a spot overlooking the glacier Lagoon. It was such a great sight to wake up too, and it often felt like we were on a boat as we looked through the windshield.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Day 3: South Coast- Part 2<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Destinations for day 3:<\/span><\/h3>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visiticeland.com\/things-to-do\/national-parks-in-Iceland\/SnaefellsjokullNationalPark\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Sv\u00ednafellsj\u00f6kull<\/strong><\/a>: This is a tongue of the mighty Vatnaj\u00f6kull Glacier. It was very cool to see this up so close. We loved this area so much we went to two locations (about 5 km apart) to take pictures and make a big lunch.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Svartifoss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Svartifoss waterfall<\/strong><\/a>: A waterfall in Skaftafell (Vatnaj\u00f6kull National Park) and is one of the most popular sights in the park. It is surrounded by dark lava columns, which gave rise to its name. It was a bit of a hike to get there, but well worth it!<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.klaustur.is\/Ferdathjonusta\/English\/Interesting_places\/Foss_a_sidu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Foss \u00e1 Si\u00f0u<\/strong><\/a>: This is another waterfall along the drive. We stopped to take picture from the road and did not go to see it up close.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.klaustur.is\/Ferdathjonusta\/English\/Interesting_places\/Kirkjugolf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kirkjug\u00f3lf<\/strong><\/a>: \u00a0A decent size section of columnar basalt, eroded and shaped by glaciers and waves. Columnar basalt is formed when lava flow gets cooled and contraction forces build up. Cracks then form horizontally and the extensive fracture network that develops results in the six sided formation of the columns.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/blog\/top-10-swimming-pools-in-iceland\/\"><strong>Seljavallalaug<\/strong><\/a>: A protected 25-metre outdoor pool that is one of the oldest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/blog\/top-10-swimming-pools-in-iceland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">swimming pools in Iceland<\/a> (built in 1923). Although it was a bit green, it was still a fantastic experience (and substituted for a shower).<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hekla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Hekla<\/strong><\/a>: A stratovolcano with a height of 1,491 m. Hekla is one of Iceland&#8217;s most active volcanoes; over 20 eruptions have occurred in and around the volcano since 874.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/svartifoss-waterfall.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 425px; height: 283px;\" title=\"Svartifoss waterfall in south Iceland\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/svartifoss-waterfall.jpg\" alt=\"Svartifoss waterfall in south Iceland\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/svinafellsjokull.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 425px; height: 283px;\" title=\"Sv\u00ednafellsj\u00f6kull glacier, south Iceland\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/svinafellsjokull.jpg\" alt=\"Sv\u00ednafellsj\u00f6kull glacier, south Iceland\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After another long day we headed to bed with a great view of magnificent Hekla around 4am. Scientists say it could erupt any minute, and we loved the thrill! We highly recommend taking highway 26 off of route 1, unless you like extremely bumpy roads.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Day 4: The Golden Circle\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Destinations for day 4:<\/span><\/h3>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gullfoss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Gullfoss Falls<\/strong><\/a>: A waterfall located in the canyon of the Hv\u00edt\u00e1 River. Gullfoss is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. We traveled here around 2pm and there were way too many tourists to really get the full joy out of it.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Geysir\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Geysir<\/strong><\/a>: A geyser that was the first described in a printed source and the first known to modern Europeans. We really enjoyed our time here as tourists started to clear after our late lunch.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Silfra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Silfra<\/strong><\/a>: A rift that is part of the divergent tectonic boundary between the North American and Eurasian plates. At this location we saw brilliant blue, crystal clear water that was perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling (if you are willing to pay). If you go later in the evening expect to be swarmed by flies, unless you are constantly running!<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hvalfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur_Tunnel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Hvalfjar\u00f0ag\u00f6ng Tunnel<\/strong><\/a>: A very cool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goiceland.com\/blog\/tunnels-in-iceland\/2455\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tunnel<\/a> that is 5,770 meters long and reaches a depth of 165 meters below sea level. This tunnel shortens the distance from Reykjav\u00edk to the western and northern parts of the island by 45 kilometers. This tunnel costs about 8 Euros, and they do take Visa!<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.west.is\/en\/west\/place\/eldborg-crater\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Eldborg volcanic caldera<\/strong><\/a>: A beautifully-formed crater rising 60m above the surrounding lava.The spatter cone is the largest crater along a short volcanic rift, 200 m in diameter and 50 m deep. Its last eruption was about 5000-6000 years ago.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goiceland.com\/blog\/hot-springs-in-iceland\/10275\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Landbrotalaug Hot Pot<\/strong><\/a>: This is a small hot tub with perfect temperature surrounded by a beautiful view.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/silfra.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 425px; height: 283px;\" title=\"Diving in Silfra in Iceland\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/silfra.jpg\" alt=\"Diving in Silfra in Iceland\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/geysir-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"width: 425px; height: 283px;\" title=\"Drive the Golden circle and enjoy Geysir.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rent.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/geysir-1.jpg\" alt=\"Drive the Golden circle and enjoy Geysir.\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" data-savee-read=\"true\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>After another long day of traveling the Landbrotalaug Hot Pot was the perfect location to have a few drinks and settle in for the night around 3am. If you are lucky (and go late), you can maybe have this place to yourself. Hiking to the gorge takes about 30 minutes, and it is totally worth the effort to keep climbing further!<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hellnar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Hellnar<\/strong><\/a>: An ancient fishing village and cluster of old houses\/buildings situated close to Arnarstapi. Here you can take gorgeous pictures of the coastline.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/L\u00f3ndrangar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>L\u00f3ndrangar<\/strong><\/a>: A pair of rock pinnacles. They are volcanic plugs of basalt that have been cut out from softer surrounding rock by erosion.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summitguides.is\/#!vatnshellir-cave\/op1r6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Vatnshellir Cave<\/strong><\/a>: Take a tour of an 8000 year old lava tube and learn about how it was formed. You can book the 45 minute tour when you arrive at the location.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.west.is\/en\/west\/place\/kirkjufell-mountain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Kirkjufell Mountain<\/strong><\/a>: A 463m high mountain on the north coast. This is said to be the most photographed mountain in Iceland!<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tripadvisor.com\/ShowUserReviews-g666462-d8667410-r320825233-Laki_Hafnarkaffi-Grundarfjorour_West_Region.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Laki Cafe<\/strong><\/a>: I highly recommend heading to the Laki Cafe for great food and service. We had pizza, beer, and ribs that totally hit the spot!<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lonelyplanet.com\/iceland\/stykkisholmur-to-grundarfjordur\/sights\/natural-landmarks\/berserkjahraun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Berserkjahraun<\/strong><\/a>: A very cool lava field that is great to take some beautiful pictures. All you need to do is pull off to the side of the road and explore. Getting a camper van was the best way to see Iceland on our own schedule, in such a short period of time. From volcanoes to glaciers, there is just so much to see.
